I believe that by listening to people and working collaboratively, we can shape a brighter future for Hoover.

ELECTION DAY IS TUESDAY, AUGUST 26TH

Meet Khristi

Khristi Driver currently serves on the Hoover City Council representing Place 4 and has announced her candidacy for re-election in the upcoming municipal election on August 26, 2025. Appointed in November 2022 following Mike Shaw’s election to the Alabama House of Representatives, Driver has quickly established herself as a committed leader focused on public safety, infrastructure, economic development, education, and community enhancement.

A native of Blount County and the daughter of an electrician and a secretary, Driver earned a Presidential Scholarship to the University of Alabama, graduating with a B.A. in Political Science in 1997. She went on to earn her Juris Doctorate from Samford University’s Cumberland School of Law in 2000.

Driver brings a wealth of experience from her career at Southern Company, where she currently serves as Commercial Operations and Product Director for Southern Nuclear Services. Her past roles include Security Programs Director, Associate General Counsel, and Compliance Director. She previously practiced civil defense litigation as an equity partner at Haskell Slaughter Young & Rediker.

Since moving to Hoover in the early 2000s and settling in the Trace Crossings and The Preserve neighborhoods, Driver has been deeply involved in the community. She is a mother of two and has served as President of the Hoover City Schools Foundation, President of the Downtown Redevelopment Authority, and a board member for the Hoover Chamber of Commerce. A graduate of Leadership Hoover’s inaugural class, she now serves on its Board of Directors.

Driver also actively supports local nonprofits including Aldridge Gardens, Hoover Helps, and the Hoover Service Club.

Hoover is my home, and serving on the City Council has been both an honor and a learning experience. I’m running to continue building a safe, thriving, and connected community where families and businesses can flourish.

Khristi On The Issues:

Safety First:

Public safety is the backbone of a strong community. I’ll prioritize resources for law enforcement, fire protection, first responders, and emergency preparedness to ensure every neighborhood remains a safe place to live, work, and raise a family.

Strong Foundations:

We need to protect the foundation of Hoover’s success — smart growth, solid infrastructure, and excellent schools. I’ll work to ensure we maintain the high standards our residents expect while preparing for the next generation.

Stimulate Economic Re-development:

It’s time to breathe new life into underutilized areas of Hoover. I’ll champion strategic redevelopment, support small businesses, and attract new investment to keep our economy diverse and growing.

Shape Quality of Life:

From parks and green space to the arts and recreation, I’ll support policies that improve our daily lives and protect the character of our community. Our quality of life should reflect the pride we have in calling Hoover home.
